So as the title suggests I’m looking to leave behind Spotify for many obvious reasons over the previous years.

Requirements: * Linux - Fedora (Android app is a plus if synchronization is supported) * Storing data locally or synchronizing through a Nextcloud * FOSS

When I was growing up, we had discovery channel. That sparked my intrinsic curiousity. My daughter has that intrinsic motivation as well, but only for k-pop now. Title… Honestly, I’m just tired of funding monsters, just because we’ve gotten used to using their platforms.

So far, I am enjoying PieFed.social and there are features on it I wish I had before. Originally, I joined KBin.social but KBin ended up being abandoned because the owner had health issues. So I moved to both MBin and Lemmy. Things were going good for a while, but, sometimes I would unintentionally attract the ire of antagonizing users from certain instances. This is not my first account in the fediverse, this is probably my 8th or 9th go at this.

I would want cremation. Cremation and a simple marker. I wouldn’t be buried at all at my marker, because I would actually want my ashes spread in two separate places. One is somewhere in my hometown and the other spot, probably around the recreational area of my middle school, where I had commonly found peace at.

When I can’t sleep, I turn around and sleep “upside down” - moving my pillows to where my feet were beforehand, and my feet to where my head was beforehand - and I stick with that for a week or so. It gives me a week or so without insomnia and then wears off, so I have to turn myself back around for the next 7-12 day period.

Yes it’s amazon and they’re pure evil, but there’s a cost of living crisis and you can get free books. Personally looking forward to sapphic day…

Whenever I glance at darknet forums, people there always use Telegram for instant messaging. This seems like a strange choice for their use case, considering that Telegram is neither secure nor private[1], being centralized with Russia-controlled servers[2], phone number registration, no encryption for personal chats by default in mobile client and no encryption at all in desktop client[3], etc.

This morning I found out someone broke into my car and stole some low value junk I had in my glovebox along with a jacket and other stuff. I was home all along and didn’t hear it happening. I am usually one to check twice that the car locks when I leave it, and if for whatever reason I don’t then it auto locks after a while.

I kept my old phone (an AT&T-locked Samsung Galaxy S7) going for 10 years, replacing the battery midway through and using it well into unsupported territory. I like to keep things working as long as I can within reason, and I also know that this phone is destined to become e-waste as soon as I get rid of it.
