Project to reintroduce ospreys at Rutland Water hits 300 milestone

In 2001, the first osprey in England for about 150 years was born at Rutland Water and 300 birds have fledged the site in total, the trust said.

To think that there were none for 150 years is sad in the first place. But a lot of progress has been made over the last 25 and that is great.
