Woman of the Year Accurso is officially one of the world’s most influential entertainers. She has now outraged Israel lobby groups by daring to empathise with — and weep over — the tens of thousands of Palestinian children maimed and murdered during the post-October 2023 phase of the genocide.

Unser DIY Totholz-Weihnachtsbaum

Community iconc/dach@feddit.org by
Teppichbrand@feddit.org

Over the past four years, I’ve significantly reduced my social media footprint. There are countless reasons for this, all of which are beyond the scope of this article, but the point I want to make is this: despite my growing apathy and downright hostility towards social platforms, I’ve found YouTube to be an oasis of sorts.

GUI library for C?

Community iconc/programming@programming.dev by
olenkoVD@lemmy.dbzer0.com

There are some times that I make something and the terminal isn’t enough. I want to make it user-friendly and add buttons and dropdowns and stuff. I mainly write C, so I want a well-known and good GUI library for C. I have tried learning Qt but the documentation was awful and all the examples were for C++ or Python. I also am aware about libraries like imgui but it’s more for debugging UIs I think and not for normal applications that end users use.

In a small room in San Diego last week, a man in a black leather jacket explained to me how to save the world from destruction by AI. Max Tegmark, a notable figure in the AI-safety movement, believes that “artificial general intelligence,” or AGI, could precipitate the end of human life. I was in town for NeurIPS, one of the largest AI-research conferences, and Tegmark had invited me, along with five other journalists, to a briefing on an AI-safety index that he would release the next day. No company scored better than a C+.

Although Campbell is right to point out that markets do play a significant role in government spending, Polanski is on to something deeper that could help reframe the debate around the UK economy. While Rachel Reeves might be celebrated for scrapping the two-child benefit cap, the latest budget doesn’t go nearly far enough in delivering the change that Britain desperately needs. Austerity has scarred the UK for the last 14 years. If it wants to finally break free, then it’s time for a radical new approach. And that starts with rethinking how government finances work.

This study evaluates the largest automated speed enforcement program in the United States—2,000 cameras deployed across New York City from 2014 to 2023. Leveraging data on 700,000 collisions and 18 million speeding tickets, the analysis finds that cameras lead to persistent and sustained reductions in crashes. These results demonstrate that automated enforcement can meaningfully improve road safety while avoiding the harms associated with conventional traffic safety approaches.

I wanted to share a new app I just started using. Its called Shiru and it works like streamio only its for just anime. Out of the box it won’t stream anything. You have to add the extensions for streaming. So go here after installing Shiru. https://github.com/Spithskia/Shiru-Extensions then copy and paste the link for the extensions into the sources part of settings. Then set the bandwidth limit, turn off autoplay next chapter to avoid issues like I had early and add a my anime list account for saving progress marks and playlist.
