White House App Found Tracking Users' Exact Location Every 4.5 Minutes via Third-Party Server (ibtimes.co.uk)

Community iconc/technology@lemmy.world by
spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works

The Trump administration’s newly launched White House App is under scrutiny after a software developer claimed to have found embedded code that tracks users’ precise GPS coordinates every 4.5 minutes and automatically syncs them to a third-party server. The claim, posted on 28 March 2026 by the X account @Thereallo1026, has drawn nearly 260,000 views and prompted questions about data collection practices in government-operated applications.

Gameplay mechanics were also a lot better with more replayability.

Community iconc/comicstrips@lemmy.world by

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can’t count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with handicap features, and also to find Easter eggs. Speaking of Easter eggs, you’d lose a number of hours exploring every nook and cranny finding them!

Keep Android Open

If you haven’t seen this yet, Google is planning to require mandatory developer identity verification for all Android apps, including apps distributed outside the Play Store, taking effect September 2026. This affects every independent and open source Android developer directly.

Wanted to format anyway for a laugh? We had a tool for that: it was called "WORDPAD". "Yes please give me LINKS in my file. Please give me HEADERS." - Statements dreamed up by the utterly Deranged. LOOK at what Microsoft has been demanding your Respect for all this time, with all the programming language & technology we built for them (This is REAL Notepad, made by REAL Microsoft): ??????? ?????? ????????
