We have been seeing a big influx of memes and non Pic posts. This is a reminder that this community is meant for Pics which is just that - pictures taken with a camera. Any non Pic posts will be taken down and frequent infracture of that rule will lead to a temp ban.
The “mountain” on the horizon is not a mountain at all. It’s a “chat” pile. One of many huge piles of mine tailings in what was the mining town of Picher, Oklahoma.
She got loads of attention from everyone and people wrote happy birthday messages on the barn announcement board. It made me so happy. I didn’t get to spend as long as I wanted at the barn because I’ve had a tough day and it’s hot outside. I made sure Sandy got the attention she deserves though and lots of treats.
Sorry for the panoramic slightly tilted image. But the place had a ton of visitors and it was almost impossible to image it from front without dozens of people coming in the view.
She seemed pretty bummed until we really started doing stuff. She’s a bit ribby and lost some weight. Not much, but any loss is always noticeable. I think she’s been a bit lonely because I haven’t been able to see her, and her bestie Five went back to racing.
Sadly Jackie has betrayed the people of Hong Kong. In 2009 he stated “I’m not sure if it’s good to have freedom or not.”. He also said he was “beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled.”
I opened the door to a shed and found this guy sitting in the middle of the floor. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one this big in the wild. My coworker said it was nice enough to be out in the open and not hiding somewhere I had to put my hands.
This was written in the book Star Trek Memories by William Shatner and made me pause. But today we are seeing it happen in real time in America and yet no one is truly trying to stop it. So with this we can see exactly how it could happen then.
I’ve been listening to Bruce Springsteen’s memoir Born to Run. It’s surprisingly good; I highly recommend it. Bruce reads the audiobook himself. I went in with a casual appreciation for Bruce and his music, and am coming out as a massive fan.
I made a couple of small errors but dammit I did it. I bought it for my birthday almost a month ago, to see if I had the dexterity in my addled hands and brain, and the answer is, I do!
Tobacco hawk moth. Found adjacent to my tomato plants, this moth will likely spawn tomato hornworms which will be devastating. But it’s part of the ecosystem. Without them parasitic wasps will not have food and would not survive. So keeping a few pests means success for their predators as well.
Totally nobody’s fault. She stepped on the toe of my boot by mistake and I stepped back to free my foot and I just kept going backwards. Smacked the back of my head on the ground so hard it bounced and my glasses flew off my face. I sat up and was pretty dazed and just sat on the ground for a bit to get my bearings. Then my vision got weird when I stood and I got hella barfy. Had my stepfather take me to the hospital and a friend put Sandy back into pasture for me. Sandy was very concerned when I was on the ground and wasn’t standing up right away. She was also super upset that I wasn’t the one taking her back to pasture and kind of threw a fit. The other folks there think she didn’t want to leave me because I’m injured.
