Reminds me of this old classic site:
https://pointerpointer.com/
From a time of peak internet content
Omg I remember finding that on Stumbleupon! Iām glad itās still up. So many classic sites are gone now.
Stumbleupon was best Internet
From the userās standpoint yes. From site operator standpoint, no.
Worse than worthless traffic. Hoards of content locusts descend on your site, ad blockers up, fuck over your server, provide 0 ad clicks/conversions and leave you -$10 profit.
Edit: downvotes do not surprise me, why would a selfish user ever consider what theyāre taking from someone else? After all, they need to be entertained! After 2 years of our site getting completely flooded, I eventually redirected stumble upon traffic. Like I said, worse than useless, actively damaging to the site and spoiling the experience for the positive users.
omg Iām laughing like a little kid. this is hilarious
This is one of the dumbest sites Iāve ever seen.
Thank you.
Reminded me the same
Never knew about that site. That was a great waste of 5 minutes, thank you!
i read somewhere that ai will generally compose images of humans using the same 8 or 9 poses and camera positions
ai must have gathered that the pointing thing must be a key frame human activity
the bots would focus on the finger, and not what itās pointing at. Itās slightly amusing and very on brand

Iām sorry, is that fucking TechnoViking vs Bruce Lee?
JFC.
Now THERE is a name I havenāt heard in ages? Gotta look that up again!
I wondere what happened to him
One can only assume that he is still dancing, either in this realm or in Valhalla.
EDIT
I guess uh, if youāre not an old head:
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/technoviking
One of the earliest net memes, old enough that some versions of it are in the demotivational poster format.

This is just YouTube default algorithm now. Ai slop videos that are so obviously fake and often all they are is just a slideshow of ai images along with a text to speech narrator reading AI text
man people gotta stop picking bruce lee to randomly fight them
They got a pretty good shot now.
Did it really happen, the Muay Thai female martial artist vs. Bruce Lee thing?
Nope, these are all fake
Out of curiosity, did the original video have a finger-pointing still like this?
No, it was a song by a band from the 1960s (which could explain the Bob Dylan suggested videos)
Ah, so itās not an āalgorithm finding similar poses in videosā thing, itās just AI deciding thatās a Human Pose? š¬
Or the AI content farms deciding that itās a high-engagement thumbnail style to use
Yup. That and the HFY videos that the algorithm will barf out at you. Ugh. I usually go down the side list and ādonāt recommend channelā to all of them when they show up. Absolute trash..
Iām convinced this is a psyop to make boomers and older genx question their own memory. this opens the door for further washing and manipulation.
Remember when trained professional fighters used to randomly fight people in the audience?
Yep. Problem was how often theyād accidentally pick Bruce Lee
Goddamned Bruce Lee was always there in the audience of every fight. No wonder heās a legend
Youād like the DeArrow browser extension.
I was just watching this and it seems related to your situation:
Why Are Americans So Bloody Stupid? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9MubNsh3rs
Yeah, why are Americans this dumb?
When i donāt sign in, every video is a trump video
On youtube, you have to learn to use the DONāT RECOMMEND CHANNEL BUTTON a lot
There is too much A.I. slop on yt spewing out wrong information and trying to rewrite history it is disgusting.
I get that Iām apparently the weird one here, but I donāt get why people put up with this instead of just using your subscriptions feed. I turned off watch history a long time ago and it has been great.
Iāve found loads of actually good and interesting high effort content from recommendations.
Indeed. I understand the algorithm hate round here, and if someone decides that they donāt want any recommendations from Google at all thatās their business, but I do appreciate some of what they send my way. Recently, whether due to a tweak on the back end or a quirk of my recent watch history, Iāve found Iāve been getting a fair number of very small channels filtering into my recommendations. Without those recs, Iām never gonna find someoneās 712 view video from 3 years ago about scratch building an original spaceship design, so Iām happy to have a space where those can show up in addition to my personally curated subscription feed.
The challenge is the load of A.I. slop it throws my way. I appreciate the big and small channels that share actual helpful information.
Every time I visit youtube, I have to block at least 30 A.I. slop channels
This is what I do. Iāve had history turned off for a few years now. Itās also helped curtail my watching if YouTube since it wonāt recommend more stuff.
This racist man pooped today he didnt know his āpoopā was actually Bruce Lee and the president and an old farmer
what happened next is astounding
Donāt you mean ār*cistā?
Got the same. Was looking up videos to repair a window balance. š¤·āāļø
I just saw the first one (Rodney Dangerfield, top left) and the last one (Johnny Carson, bottom right) when I was watching a video just now. I usually watch videos on Youtube in a private browser tab by manually searching for the personās channel or video that I want to watch. The recommended videos are always absolute garbage.
THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!
Yup.
I made a video earlier this year about how you can (over time) train the algorithm to give you less of this crap. Unfortunately thereās just no concrete setting for turning off recommendations that contain AI slop, but you can tell the system to give you less with a little engagement.

Rodney Dangerfield: š±
Iām (barely) ashamed to admit that that one also captivated my attention.
I zoomed in to see where Rodney was looking, but the image was too blurry. (zoomed in on HIS face)
I also zoomed in⦠but at a different location.
Thank goodness my YouTube bookmark is on my Watch later or subscription to avoid these clickbait videos.
āIt canāt be ai the hands are normalā
/s
Are you on a VPN?
No
On a different note; the resemblance between Jeff Bezos and Rodney Dangerfield is striking! Are they father and son?! Both with these hellsapoppinā high bloodpressure eyes and their hair combed back.
A while back YT wanted me to āenable watch historyā, which was until then already enabled, I guess? Well, I refused to do it, so my home page was blank. Thatās when I switched to using the Subscriptions page as my home page on YT, and the site has been much better now. I still get recommended videos on the right side, but I can easily ignore them.
yt has a sign in option?
And ppl use it??
/s
Iāve been using YouTube since before Google bought it. I remember having to merge accounts at one point.
Havenāt used YT in ages. I use NewPipe instead
Yeah, pre shit-show webshites like YouTube, Reddit/Imgur, etc were great, but they had profit incentive.
Itās why we must cherish & support the relatively (by comparison) unenshitified services like Wiki, even Mozilla, etc. (+ ofc all the great foss projects).
