A sheet pan with small flattened potatoes, each covered with a golden lace of melted bubbly cheese.

I boiled the potatoes, then smashed flat on an oiled sheet, brushed with rosemary browned butter, and roasted until starting to crisp up. Then I topped each with a slice of havarti and broiled till they were golden and bubbly.

Linux GPIB Drivers Declared Stable - 53 Years After HP Introduced The Bus (phoronix.com)

Community iconc/linux@programming.dev by
cm0002@literature.cafe

Merged to the mainline Linux kernel last year was GPIB drivers in the kernel’s “staging” area. GPIB is the General Purpose Interface Bus launched by HP back in 1972 for lab equipment and more. After a year of cleaning up the code in the kernel’s staging area, for Linux 6.19 the GPIB drivers have been promoted out of the staging area and into the Linux kernel proper. The Linux kernel now has stable driver support for this 8 Mbyte/s parallel bus that was introduced 53 years ago.

I can see that my CoMaps does not route through houses’ yards. And, if the route either begins or ends at a yard, it does allow crossing there. So, it is respecting some OSM tag. What tags are those that cause the routing to avoid residential yards?

PSA: Don't use nextcloud's auto upload on the android app as a backup

Community iconc/selfhosted@lemmy.world by
skiguy0123@lemmy.ca

I recently noticed that my nextcloud instance was missing photos. I have the android app set to automatically upload my photos. When I need to clear up space on my phone, I make a separate backup (because I’m a paranoid SOB and hard drives are relatively cheap). I noticed that nextcloud auto upload missed about 10% of the photos. I’m not going to bash the nextcloud devs, as I recognize that I am using a free product and am owed nothing, but I’m making this post so others are aware of this risk. Apparently I’m not alone https://help.nextcloud.com/t/android-client-does-not-auto-upload-all-images/216849/14

Beyond technical improvements, Linux Kernel 6.19 will also deliver something that, oddly enough, can be seen from a more aesthetic point of view. And more specifically, it is set to introduce a new Terminus 10×18 console bitmap font, offering a clearer, more balanced option for users who rely on text-mode consoles.
